Broadcom plans to earn over $100 billion from AI chips next year
Broadcom Continues to Profit from AI Even While Remaining in the Shadows
*Broadcom has stated that revenue from sales of artificial intelligence (AI) components next year could exceed $100 million. At present, in the current quarter it is already reaching $10.2 million.*
1. Rapid Revenue Growth
- In the previous quarter, revenue from AI chips and collaborations with their manufacturers doubled to $8.4 million, while the company’s total revenue grew only 29 % – $19.3 million.
- According to CEO Hoka Tan, Broadcom is already receiving support from suppliers needed to achieve the $100 million goal by the end of next year.
2. What the Company Does
Broadcom not only sells digital signal processors and telecom components but also helps major players develop their own chips:
| Client | Activity |
|---|---|
| Development of the Tensor processor family (since 2015) | |
| Meta* | Implementation in production of its own chips, as well as MTIA accelerators |
| Anthropic | Partnership for supplying processors and accelerators |
| OpenAI | Collaboration on AI infrastructure |
| Fujitsu, ByteDance (non‑US) | Specialized solutions for their infrastructures |
\*Meta – the platform company Meta Platforms.
3. Examples of Cooperation
- Google began developing Tensor processors with Broadcom’s support in 2015, and since 2018 the chips have been available to Apple, Anthropic, and recently Meta.
- For Meta, Broadcom is developing MTIA accelerators; the company head emphasized that the program continues despite rumors of its termination.
4. Scaling Plans
Hoka Tan clarified that the $100 million goal will be reached through the needs of major clients:
| Client | Planned Capacity (GW) |
|---|---|
| Anthropic | 3 GW |
| 3 GW | |
| Meta* | ≥2 GW |
| OpenAI | ≥1 GW |
Thus, Broadcom continues to actively participate in the growth of AI infrastructure, even if its role remains less visible compared to other technology giants.
