Pregnancy Due Date Calculator

👶 Calculate your estimated due date, current pregnancy week, and important milestones. Our calculator uses the standard medical formula based on your last menstrual period or conception date.

How Pregnancy is Calculated

Pregnancy lasts approximately 40 weeks (280 days) from the first day of your last menstrual period. This is calculated using Naegele's Rule: add 280 days (40 weeks) to the first day of your last period.

Calculation Methods

  • Last Menstrual Period (LMP): Most common method. Add 280 days to the first day of your last period.
  • Conception Date: If you know when conception occurred, add 266 days (38 weeks).
  • Ultrasound Dating: Most accurate method (not available in this calculator, requires medical examination).

Pregnancy Trimesters

  • First Trimester (Weeks 1-13): Embryo development, organ formation, morning sickness common.
  • Second Trimester (Weeks 14-27): Rapid growth, baby movements felt, "honeymoon phase" of pregnancy.
  • Third Trimester (Weeks 28-40): Final growth, preparation for birth, increased discomfort.

Important Pregnancy Milestones

  • Week 4-5: Positive pregnancy test possible
  • Week 6-8: First prenatal visit, heartbeat detectable
  • Week 12: End of first trimester, miscarriage risk decreases
  • Week 20: Anatomy scan ultrasound, gender may be visible
  • Week 24: Viability milestone (baby could survive with medical care)
  • Week 37: Full term pregnancy begins
  • Week 40: Due date (only 5% of babies arrive exactly on due date!)

Due Date Accuracy

Only about 5% of babies are born on their exact due date. Most babies arrive within 2 weeks before or after. Factors affecting due date include cycle length, conception timing, and individual pregnancy variations.

When to Seek Medical Care

  • Confirm pregnancy with your healthcare provider
  • Schedule first prenatal visit around 8 weeks
  • Regular prenatal checkups throughout pregnancy
  • Monitor for warning signs: bleeding, severe pain, decreased fetal movement
  • Ultrasounds may adjust your due date based on fetal measurements

💕 Remember: Every pregnancy is unique. This calculator provides estimates based on average pregnancy length. Your healthcare provider will monitor your pregnancy and may adjust your due date based on ultrasound measurements and other factors.
