Speed of Sound by Temperature
Calculate the speed of sound in (dry) air from temperature. Uses the ideal-gas relation c = √(γ · R · T) with γ≈1.4 and R=287.05 J/(kg·K). Also shows the common linear approximation around room temperature.
Advanced constants (γ and R)
For dry air at ~20 °C, γ≈1.4 and R≈287.05. Humidity slightly modifies γ and R, increasing c by ~0.1–0.6% for typical indoor RH.

Notes: For an ideal gas, c depends on temperature only (not pressure). Humidity and CO₂ content slightly change the result through γ and R. Linear formula is accurate within a few m/s near 0–30 °C.
