Reimagining Insider Statements About Call of Duty

Insider author TheGhostOfHope, known for his precise disclosures about the Call of Duty series, has officially ceased publishing confidential information. Activision itself influenced this decision.

In a microblog post he announced that company lawyers had asked him to refrain from sharing insider details about Call of Duty. Given the legal risks, TheGhostOfHope chose not to contest the request.

> “I will continue to discuss only official news and anything unrelated to leaks or confidential data. Thank you for the past few years,” he wrote in his farewell message.

The last time an insider claimed that by the release of next‑generation Xbox (no earlier than 2027) Activision was considering launching two games: a traditional Call of Duty and a separate “Zombies” title from Treyarch.

Activision denied those rumors, and the official Call of Duty account on X added a joke that the “rumor factory is running at full tilt.” Despite this, TheGhostOfHope remained critical of the company and accused it of deceiving fans.

In response, Activision issued a statement rejecting the notion that the insider was “right about everything,” emphasizing that even inaccurate leaks can harm developers and distort player expectations.

At present the company has no plans to announce a new Call of Duty for 2026. According to TheGhostOfHope, this year should see the release of “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4,” which will transport players to Korea and allow them to prevent a Third World War.
