Apple has completely sold the Mac mini and Mac Studio in several configuration options
Shortage of Mac Studio and Mac mini availability
Apple continues to run out of older Mac Studio and Mac mini models due to supply chain issues and preparations for the launch of new Apple M5 chips.
- In the official Apple Store, several desktop computers are now marked as “Currently unavailable” – customers cannot even place an order.
- Among the scarce models: the M4 Mac mini with 32 GB RAM and two higher‑spec Mac Studio configurations.
- Orders for the M3 Ultra Mac Studio with 256 GB RAM are only being delivered in August–September.
Recent changes
Over the past week, Apple has completely stopped accepting orders for one of its models. The following are now unavailable:
- Mac Studio with M4 Max and 128 GB memory;
- Mac mini with an M4 chip and 32 GB RAM;
- Mac mini with M4 Pro and 64 GB RAM.
The “Currently unavailable” tag usually signals that a model will be removed from the catalog – this happened in March with the 512 GB Mac Studio.
Available options and timelines
Other versions of the Mac mini and Mac Studio are still for sale, but delivery is delayed:
- The M3 Ultra Mac Studio waits about five weeks.
- Waiting times for the Mac mini vary by RAM/SSD configuration—from one month to three months.
What does this mean?
On one hand, delays could signal an upcoming release of M5 chip models. On the other, it’s possible that shortages of memory and processors have even reached Apple despite its resources. A final clarification is expected in the company’s quarterly report scheduled for April 30.
