The keyboard remains one of the most in-demand components of a personal computer, so it wears out quickly and can break from mechanical damage. For those who like to drink beverages near their laptop, sometimes liquid spills directly onto the keys. The new MacBook Neo model makes replacing the keyboard easier than in previous Apple versions.

According to MacRumors, this is evident from the self‑repair guide for the MacBook Neo. Previously Apple combined the keyboard with the top part of the chassis, making its replacement a difficult and expensive task. In the new design, the keyboard, Touch ID sensor, and upper chassis are separate modules. Although you still need to unscrew more than 40 screws and put them back in place for a replacement, an average user will find it easier than with older MacBooks.

The exact cost of the part is not yet known, but the keyboard module will likely be noticeably cheaper than the upper chassis, which could have cost between $400 and $600 on Air and Pro models. To draw final conclusions, we need to wait for the component to become available for sale. Nevertheless, from the perspective of the keyboard replacement process—everything has become simpler and faster.
