Apple will unveil a new MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max processors at the beginning of March
Apple is preparing a new generation of the MacBook Pro
After numerous speculations about the release dates for laptops powered by M5 chips, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman confirmed that new MacBook Pro models with M5 Pro and M5 Max processors will appear next month.
> “The new MacBook Pro will launch simultaneously with macOS 26.3, which will be released before March. Since high‑performance laptops based on the M4 chip are still scarce, this indicates that new models are coming soon. The exact date is the week starting March 2,” Gurman writes.
Thus Apple fans will have to wait a few more weeks, but a release between March 2 and 4 is expected if plans remain unchanged.
What else will be announced
Gurman also confirmed upcoming presentations of other devices:
| Device | Expected date |
|---|---|
| MacBook Air M5 | After the MacBook Pro |
| Mac Studio M5 Max / M5 Ultra | Soon after Pro |
| Studio Display – HDR + 90 Hz/120 Hz refresh rate |
In the longer term, the following are expected:
- A MacBook powered by an A18 Pro chip (first quarter of the year);
- An updated Mac mini;
- A new MacBook Pro with an OLED display and an M6 chip – likely by the end of the year.
Conclusion
Apple plans to launch a new generation of the MacBook Pro in March 2026, simultaneously releasing macOS 26.3. After that, the company will continue its announcement series: MacBook Air M5, Mac Studio with new chips, and an upgraded Studio Display. Future releases are expected to include models based on the A18 Pro and M6, as well as more affordable options for the Mac mini and MacBook.
