BioWare is so busy that it doesn't have time to showcase the new Mass Effect
New “Mass Effect” – still in development
*In response to fan questions about why almost nothing is being published about the new installment of the series, BioWare executive producer Michael Gamble opened the company’s microblog and explained the current situation.*
1. What is already known
- Plans are confirmed: in December 2020 BioWare officially announced the creation of the next sci‑fi RPG.
- Little content: since then only a handful of teasers have appeared, and the game itself has not yet been shown.
2. The last public contact
- Last fall (November 7) on N7 Day the company went online again, confirming that development is ongoing.
- Fans received only a new illustration depicting the Krogan civil war and a promise of a “next” image.
3. Gamble’s reply
> “Too busy with work. No time for teasers,” wrote Michael Gamble in response to an X user who asked for new material for the Mass Effect community.
- The team is focused exclusively on creating the game itself.
- Resources do not allow allocating funds for marketing materials and “attractive” teasers.
4. What will be in the new installment
- Development is led by BioWare’s core team under veterans of the original trilogy.
- Photorealistic graphics are expected, along with maintaining the mature tone characteristic of the first three games.
- Rumors say the game will return to a classic linear format, abandoning the open world of Mass Effect: Andromeda.
5. When can we expect a release
- In last winter the project was in pre‑production.
- No exact release date yet; the team continues working on the game, but no concrete timelines have been announced.
Conclusion: Michael Gamble confirmed that the new Mass Effect installment is still being developed and additional content will not be published in the near future. The team is focused on creating the game, not marketing teasers.
