AccuWeather added a new weather module to ChatGPT

The AccuWeather company launched an app that integrates with ChatGPT and provides up-to-date weather data for any point in the world:

- current temperature and air conditions;
- forecast for the next 10 days;
- statistics on past periods;
- official warnings (storms, thunderstorms, etc.).

This information allows users to better plan walks and trips, and developers are confident that the integration will reduce the number of inaccurate ChatGPT weather answers.

How to use it

1. Enable the AccuWeather app in your ChatGPT profile settings.
2. When entering a query, use the `@` symbol, select AccuWeather, and formulate the question that will be processed by an external service.

Thus, this is not just about “updating” the AI model, but about a clear linkage between ChatGPT and an independent weather API, access to which is initiated by the user.

Launch context

The app appeared shortly after OpenAI announced the halt of the Sora project. As a result, the company plans to limit video generation in ChatGPT and third‑party tools via the API to paid tiers.
