Claude was trained by Anthropic to create charts and tables directly in dialogue with the user
Anthropic continues to develop the Claude chatbot despite disagreements with U.S. authorities
The new update allows Claude to automatically insert illustrations—charts, tables, and diagrams—into conversations. This makes answers clearer and more visual. Users can request the creation of any of these visualizations directly.
What changed
Before the update After the update Illustrations appeared in a sidebar (see The Verge) Now they are inserted directly into the chat window Limited interaction capabilities Ability to make charts, tables, and diagrams interactive Example: the periodic table will display so that clicking on any element shows additional information about it.
How Claude works
- Autocomplete: the bot determines when to add an illustration.
- On request: a user can ask for insertion at any time.
- Editing: if needed, an existing visualization can be modified.

Availability
The new feature is enabled by default for all Claude user tiers. Illustrations from conversations disappear after the chat ends, but the sidebar can be used at any time.
Thus Anthropic boosts Claude’s competitiveness by adding flexible and interactive visual elements to user interactions.
