Corning launches new protective glass – Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3

Corning has announced the release of the latest version of its well-known protective glass for mobile devices – Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3. According to the manufacturer, it is the “best solution” in the Gorilla Glass lineup today.

What’s new?

- Long‑term protection – the glass not only protects the screen from drops but is also designed to maintain strength over a long service life.

- High impact resistance – in laboratory tests the material withstood:

- Drops from a height of more than 2 m onto a concrete surface;

- At least 20 drops from a height of 1 m onto asphalt.

Concrete and asphalt are considered the harshest scenarios because their surfaces are hard and uneven. Success under such conditions means that smartphones covered with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 can keep their screens intact for longer.

Already in action

The new foldable Motorola Razr Fold – unveiled at MWC 2026 – already features an external display protected by Corning glass. This confirms that Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 has entered production and will be used in a number of flagship devices planned for release in 2026.

Thus, Corning is bringing to market a material capable of significantly increasing the reliability of modern smartphone screens.
