DJI unveiled new robot vacuum cleaners, the Romo 2: equipped with drone-like sensors and supporting ultra-fast charging
DJI launches a new line of intelligent robot vacuums “Romo 2” in China
The company DJI introduced the Romo 2 series of robot vacuums to the Chinese market, promising smarter cleaning and less manual intervention. The lineup includes the Romo P2 and Romo A2 models, as well as variants with automatic water dispensing.
1. What’s new in Romo 2
Feature Description
AI‑controlled cleaning – The robot automatically recognizes floor types and adjusts its mode: it increases suction on carpets, detects liquid spills for wet cleaning, and moves through tight spaces without moving furniture.
Collision avoidance system – Laser radar, wide‑angle cameras, and ToF sensors catch even thin cables, bedding, or transparent objects (mirrors, glass). Built‑in lighting helps spot dust in dark corners.
Arm‑radar – A 123° rotation gives access to edges and corners; the new design covers an additional 4.5 cm of wall area compared with predecessors.
Suction power – 36,000 Pa (vs. 25,000 Pa on earlier models), intelligent carpet boost mode, and deep dust cleaning. The robot can overcome obstacles up to 8.5 cm high and features brushes protected against hair tangling.
2. Automation and maintenance
* Dock station – Supports high‑temperature self‑cleaning, antibacterial modes, hot‑air drying, UV sterilization, and automatic cleaning.
* Control – Voice control, remote video link, heat maps of contamination in the DJI Home app.
* Fast charging – 55 W.
