SpaceX plans to expand launch sites worldwide

Reusable launch vehicles created by the private aerospace company Space X have radically changed the global commercial launch market. But company CEO Elon Musk is not planning to stop at what has been achieved. He announced plans to build several new launch sites both in the United States and abroad.

At present, Space X has its main base Starbase in Texas and developing infrastructure in Florida. However, the growing frequency of reusable rocket launches forces the company to seek new opportunities. The Starship rockets were conceived as fully reusable: after each flight they require only minimal re‑equipping to go back into space.

In an official statement from the company it says that it wants to increase the number of launches to several thousand per year. To achieve such intensity, additional launch sites must be created. As Musk noted earlier, new facilities will function as “airports” for rockets, allowing multiple launches daily.

Starship is a reusable rocket capable of putting more than 100 tons of payload into orbit. It will become the key vehicle for deploying the Starlink satellite network, space data centers, and crewed missions to the Moon and Mars.

The twelfth test flight of Starship is scheduled for May 19. This time the rocket will be equipped with a new version of the Super Heavy booster with upgraded Raptor engines. Space X is already preparing to go public next month to raise $75 billion and value its capitalization at about $1.75 trillion.
