Google has granted free users of Chrome, Gemini, and AI Mode access to "Personal Intelligence".
Google Makes Personalized AI Available to Everyone
Google announced that the “Personal Intelligence” feature will now be open to all free users. Previously it could only be used within paid Google AI subscriptions.
Where the New Technology Will Appear
- In the Gemini app
- In Chrome via the web version of Gemini
- In the new AI Mode
All three platforms will have the ability to work with personal data so that answers are more accurate and relevant.
How It Works
The system analyzes information from all Google services:
- Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive)
- Google Photos
- YouTube
- Google Maps
- Search
Then AI processes text, photos, and video to “understand” user preferences. Based on this data it tailors responses to the specific account holder.
Examples of Use
Scenario | What AI Does | Technical Support
The user describes a malfunction, and the system offers troubleshooting steps (restart, reset settings) and even identifies the device model from purchase receipts.
Travel | During a layover, AI automatically shows boarding gates, selects meal options based on the user's tastes, and calculates remaining time until departure.
Local Recommendations | Instead of a standard “top‑10” list, personalized itineraries are created that take into account the traveler’s past interests.
How to Enable the Feature
- The feature will first be available in the U.S.
- You need a personal Google account and must manually enable it in settings.
- Users can restrict access to specific apps; an “Personal Intelligence” section will appear in the account menu where you can manage these permissions.
Thus, Google is expanding its AI tools’ capabilities, making them more personalized and convenient for a wide audience.
