Google launches a new AI agent Remy

With the arrival of OpenClaw it became clear that modern AI‑agent applications are no longer in doubt. The question remains: how effectively can people interact with them? In response, tech giants are developing their own solutions – and Google is no exception.

What is Remy?
Business Insider reports that a service called Remy is being tested internally. It cannot yet be said for certain whether it is the direct successor of the closed project Mariner, but sources claim its capabilities are similar to OpenClaw:

- Deep integration into the Google ecosystem
- Proactive tracking of important tasks
- Automatic handling of complex requests
- Gradual learning of user preferences

Remy positions itself as a “personal 24/7 agent for work, study and everyday life,” running on the Gemini model.

Current status
At present Remy is in practical testing within the company. It is unknown whether it will become an internal productivity tool for Google employees or be released to the public. The mention of “work” and “study” points to broader use.

Gemini already offers a number of AI‑agent features, but most existing solutions are limited to narrow specializations. Remy could offer a wider range of capabilities.

Future
Since the service is still only being tested inside Google, the company is not obligated to disclose project details at the upcoming Google I/O conference starting May 19. Keep an eye on news – more detailed information about Remy's availability for the general public may appear soon.
