Google turned Chrome into a fully automatic browser for the Workspace environment
Google Launches “Automatic” Mode for Chrome Enterprise Users
The company announced new features for the Chrome browser that will allow it to perform a range of typical work tasks and increase data protection levels.
What “automatic browsing” means
* The Gemini AI will analyze the context of open tabs and automatically initiate actions:
* booking travel;
* filling out forms;
* scheduling meetings;
* comparing prices from nearby vendors’ sites;
* extracting key data from competitor websites.
* Example: after analyzing a file in Google Docs, the browser agent can independently enter the data into a CRM system.
* Even with automation, users still need to review and confirm final decisions – the system speeds up routine operations while leaving the “strategic” work to people.
How it will work
Stage | Availability in the first weeks | Only Workspace users in the US | Activation | Through group policy settings | AI training | Employee requests are not used for model training | Process saving | Frequently used tasks can be saved as “skills.”
New security tools
1. Chrome Enterprise Premium now detects unauthorized AI tools:
* compromised extensions;
* anomalous agent activity.
2. The Gemini Summary service will add explanations for critical changes, new policies, and the end of support for specific tools, plus recommendations for browser configuration.
3. Expanded partnership with Okta: new features reduce session hijacking risk and enhance overall protection.
4. Integration with Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) allows organizations to enforce agreed security policies more strictly.
Thus Google is turning Chrome into more than just a browser—it becomes a “smart assistant” for business, taking on routine tasks while simultaneously tightening control over corporate data security.
