Google Labs announced the launch of a music startup ProducerAI

What is ProducerAI? – Google Labs Platform – an experimental project for creating an advanced audio production environment.

It allows not only generating tracks but also automatically creating album covers and music videos using the full set of the company's neural network technologies.

Technological stack | Component | Function |

|-----------|---------|

| Lyria 3 (pre-release) | Music generation via a virtual agent. |

| Gemini | Chat‑bot that conducts a full dialogue with the user and helps refine song lyrics, create remixes or even design new instruments based on text commands. |

| Nano Banana | Album cover creation. |

| Veo | Video clip generation. |

All created materials are watermarked with SynthID to clearly indicate AI content.

How it works – The user enters a request (e.g., “post‑punk track with guitar and synthesizer”).

- Lyria 3 generates the main melody.
- Gemini helps refine the song structure and polish the lyrics.
- Nano Banana creates the visual design of the cover, and Veo produces the music video.

The main advantage, notes Elias Roman (Product Management Director at Google Labs), is the ability to have a step‑by‑step dialogue with the neural network, which avoids “random” generation and yields truly serious results.

Collaboration with stars – During development, the team worked with artists such as The Chainsmokers, Lecrae, and Anjulie. Alex Pall from The Chainsmokers said: *“The platform is built specifically with musicians’ experience in mind.”*

Project history – Launched in July 2025 as a successor to Riffusion.

- Currently available in more than 250 countries, but only in a limited free mode and through paid subscriptions.

Pricing plans | Plan | Price (per month) | Credits per composition |

|-------|-------------|------------------------|

| Basic | $8 | ~600 compositions |

| Standard | $24 | for active studio work |

| Premium | $64 | extended capabilities |

Context in the music industry – AI tools are increasingly used: ElevenLabs, Udio, Suno, and others.

- However many artists express dissatisfaction with “AI clones”; Bandcamp has fully banned AI‑generated music, and Deezer is developing a technology to detect such tracks to lower their ranking.

ProducerAI remains an independent product within Labs and will continue to evolve as part of experiments applying artificial intelligence in music production.
