Honor will appear in the humanoid robot segment—debut already this month
Honor Device Co. launches a new generation of humanoid robots and an AI ecosystem
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Honor Device Co., which is regarded as the “successor” to Huawei in the Android‑smartphone arena, announced the launch of its first humanoid robot at MWC 2026 in Barcelona. The company positions itself as the first competitor offering such devices, although it should be noted that Huawei itself is already developing software for robots.
During the event Honor will showcase the latest advances in artificial intelligence. Like other Chinese brands (Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo), the company is investing billions of dollars into AI services that will be integrated not only into smartphones but also into “other” electronic devices. To attract additional investment, Honor plans to go public with an IPO.
Planned events
* March 1 – “Creators of the AI Future,” a separate event in Barcelona before MWC 2026; it is likely that the robot will be unveiled here.
* At the exhibition itself, a concept smartphone called the Honor Robot Phone will be presented, which will become the centerpiece for further development of the brand’s AI ecosystem. Technical details have not yet been disclosed, but there was an announcement about attempting to combine mobile technologies and a robotic platform in one device.
Other new products
* Foldable flagship HONOR Magic V6
* Tablet HONOR MagicPad 4
* Laptop HONOR MagicBook Pro 14
All of these products support the HONOR ALPHA PLAN strategy announced a year ago. The robotics direction is viewed as part of a broader brand transformation: from smartphone manufacturer to provider of a comprehensive ecosystem of devices and AI‑based services.
