Intel added a new chip to its Raptor Lake mobile processor lineup (Core 13th generation)

The company expanded the Core i7‑HX range by introducing the Core i7‑13645HX model. The chip is built on Intel 7 process technology (10 nm) and has 14 cores—6 performance (P) and 8 power‑efficient (E)—just like the existing Core i7‑13650HX. As a result, both processors support the same number of threads (20), have 24 MB Smart Cache, and can boost up to 4.9 GHz in Turbo Boost mode.

Power consumption – Nominal TDP: 55 W
Peak TDP: 157 W

These figures match those of the Core i7‑13650HX. Differences appear in other characteristics:

FeatureCore i7‑13645HXCore i7‑13650HX
Memory supportDDR5‑5600DDR5‑4800
Memory bandwidth89.6 GB/s76.8 GB/s
Integrated graphicsIntel UHD Graphics P730 (32 execution units)Intel UHD Graphics (16 units)
E‑core frequencyup to 3.5 GHzup to 3.6 GHz

Thus, the new chip wins in memory speed and integrated GPU performance but has a slightly lower E‑core frequency.

Who it’s for – Gamers and video editors will benefit from faster DDR5‑5600 and the powerful P730 graphics.

If higher E‑core frequency or a balance between power consumption and performance is more important, the higher model (i7‑13650HX) may be preferable.

Comparison with Core i7‑13700HX – The i7‑13700HX has 8 P‑cores, a higher boost clock of 5.0 GHz, 30 MB of cache, and a slightly higher TDP. In this context, the i7‑13645HX occupies an intermediate position: it lags in overall performance compared to the “higher” HX model but compensates with improved memory support.

Additional nuance – By the end of 2024 Intel renamed the Raptor Lake series to Core 200 and released updated Core 200H/U models. Nevertheless, in 2026 the company continues to ship laptop processors under the old Raptor Lake name, complicating consumer perception of the lineup.
