Meta Platforms has completed the acquisition of startup Assured Robot Intelligence

In a recent Bloomberg report, it is announced that Meta Platforms has closed a deal with the startup company Assured Robot Intelligence (ARI). According to Meta representatives, ARI is “at the forefront of AI for robots,” enabling machines to understand, predict, and adapt to human behavior in complex, constantly changing environments.

What ARI Does
- AI models for domestic robots – developing systems that will allow robots to operate in home settings where requirements are far higher than in the industrial sector.
- Control and self‑learning technologies – key areas Meta plans to integrate into its own humanoid robot projects.

Financial details of the deal are not disclosed.

How ARI Fits Into Meta’s Structure
1. Superintelligence Labs
- Includes the ARI team, including co‑founders Lerrel Pinto and Xiaolong Wang.
2. Robotics Studio (Meta) – a division created last year that works on software for humanoid robots.

Meta aims not to fall behind competitors: Tesla, Alphabet (Google), and Amazon are also actively developing robotics. Recently Amazon acquired the startup Fauna Robotics, where Lerrel Pinto previously worked before leaving last year. Xiaolong Wang had been conducting research at Nvidia before founding ARI.
