Microsoft announced the release date of GTA V from Game Pass, ending its “all‑good” era.
Grand Theft Auto V Leaves Game Pass After Record‑Breaking Run
The *Grand Theft Auto V* game from Rockstar Games has stayed on Xbox Game Pass for the longest stretch in its history – nearly twelve months. That’s already longer than any previous periods: four months (January–May 2020 and April–August 2021) or six (July 2023 – January 2024).
When it Returned to the Subscription
*GTA V* reappeared on Game Pass on April 15 2025. This time, the game was available not only on consoles but also for PC subscribers (including Game Pass Ultimate and Standard).
According to TrueAchievements, exactly one year after its return – April 15 2026 – *GTA V* will leave the subscription again. On that same day four other titles will disappear from the list:
- *Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes* (role‑playing classic),
- *Terra Invicta* (strategy),
- *Ashen* (action RPG), and
- *My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery* (platformer).
Why the Game Left
The exit from Game Pass coincides with the launch of a marketing campaign for the new masterpiece – *GTA VI*. Take‑Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnik announced that the campaign will start in the summer of next year.
It is expected that *GTA VI*’s release will be available only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S – November 19 2026 (if, of course, the game isn’t delayed).
