What to Expect from “Samson”
Overall Picture
On paper the project looks enticing: an open world, dynamic action and a style reminiscent of Mad‑Max and Just Cause. The developers kept marketing modest, but the release turned out disappointing – chaotic gameplay, technical bugs and a banal plot. Nevertheless there are several interesting moments in the game worth noting.
The “Work” Quest System
The protagonist, Samson, has just been released from prison thanks to his sister‑ally. Now she is a hostage of the same people, and Samson must pay back a debt of $100,000 for an unsuccessful robbery.
How the Point System Works
Time of Day Points Actions
Day 2
Evening 2
Night 2
* Standard mission – 2 points.
* More difficult – 3 points.
* Failure and restart consumes 1 point.
Quest Types
* Work: kill bandits, races, cargo seizure, car chases, thief evacuation.
* Story: require points but pay less money – you have to choose between “losses” and extra work.
Progress
By completing quests Samson gains experience that raises his level and provides points for upgrades:
Category What Improves
Instinct Combat effectiveness, survival
Tactics Driving, planning
Aggression Vehicle damage, night missions
Cunning Passive skills: health recovery at full adrenaline, faster police pursuit reduction, money hunting
Conclusion
* Pros – interesting world and variety of actions.
* Cons – technical issues, weak plot, “raw” gameplay.
If you enjoy open‑world action with elements of theft and racing, the game may be worth a try, but be prepared for some shortcomings.
