Considering investments from strategic investors (Amazon, Nvidia, SoftBank)—approximately $110 billion—the total capital raised will exceed $120 billion. This will lift OpenAI’s market capitalization to $850 billion and also mark a record scale of industry financing.
In addition, new round participants include Coatue Management, Thrive Capital, and Altimeter Capital (according to Bloomberg). Microsoft—OpenAI’s most experienced partner whose involvement the company still highly values—will also join.
For comparison, competing company Anthropic is currently valued at $380 billion after raising $30 billion last month.
