What’s new from Samsung: Galaxy AI expansion and Perplexity integration
1. Overall goal
Samsung continues to develop its own set of AI features in Galaxy AI with the aim of making interaction with devices more intuitive and natural. New capabilities will be available on flagship Galaxy S26 smartphones, which launch on February 25.

2. Why the approach is changing – Research
Samsung’s research shows that about 80% of users already use more than two AI agents to perform everyday tasks. This confirms growing demand for comprehensive solutions that combine multiple agents into a single interface.

3. What will be added to Galaxy S26 | Component | What will be done

|-----------|------------------|
| Perplexity | New AI agent integrated into One UI 8.5. Perplexity algorithms will dive deep into Samsung’s ecosystem: |
| | • Inside the Bixby virtual assistant (web search) |
| | • In flagship apps: Notes, Clock, Gallery, Calendar, and Reminders |
| User access | Perplexity can be activated with the phrase “Hey Plex” or by assigning a side button on the phone.

4. Expansion of AI agents
Samsung announced the appearance of new AI agents in third‑party apps, but details about partners have not yet been disclosed.

5. How it works – Galaxy AI operates at the system level and “understands” user context.
- The platform acts as an orchestra, unifying several AI systems into a single, seamless interaction experience.
- Users will no longer need to constantly switch between different apps: selected AI features are available without interruptions.

6. What to expect from testing
Galaxy S26 users will be able to immediately assess the effectiveness of Samsung’s collaboration with Perplexity. An evaluation of the real level of seamlessness will only be available after initial feedback from devices released on February 25.
