Key growth drivers
Co‑CEO Gustav Söderström said Spotify positions itself as a “research and development arm” within the music industry. The company aims to rapidly adopt new technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to stay competitive:
> “We always strive to quickly master and leverage the potential of new technologies. The entire industry can benefit from the paradigm shift associated with AI, but those who embrace these changes and act swiftly win.”
AI‑based content plans
At the end of last year Spotify announced its intention to remove low‑quality AI‑generated content from the platform. Instead, the company plans to promote “AI‑based music products” primarily aimed at artists. Details on how these initiatives will be implemented have not yet been disclosed, so Spotify’s exact plans regarding generated music remain uncertain.
