Telegram for Android received a root redesign in the style of Liquid Glass
New Telegram 12.4 for Android – almost like an iOS app
Last night a fully redesigned Telegram client version 12.4 for Android appeared on Google Play.
The interface received a new style reminiscent of “Apple Liquid Glass” – when first opened the app looks completely different from the usual messenger.
What changed
Current state | New design | Home panel | List of chats/ channels / bots
Stays the same, but at the bottom a navigation bar with four icons has been added: *Chats*, *Contacts*, *Settings* and *Profile*.
Hamburger menu – The button in the upper left corner that opened the settings and other functions was removed. Instead, a three‑dot item appears that opens new options: switching between day/night mode, quick access to *Favorites*, *Wallet* and creating a group.
Color palette – Strong presence of blue color switched to a white scheme; elements are rounded, and the settings sections are marked with colored icons. The profile also became white, but Telegram Premium users can choose another color.
Why it matters
- Compatibility with iOS style – in October 2025 the iPhone version was adapted for iOS 26 “Liquid Glass”. Now Android has a similar look.
- New features – publishing *Stories* is now available without a Telegram Premium subscription, but only in the current app version.
How to update
*Telegram 12.4 can already be downloaded from Google Play or the developer’s official website.*
If you want to revert to the old design, you’ll have to install an older version, but then the new features will not be available.
