Tesla announced the sale of a limited series of 350 electric vehicles, Model S and Model X, for collectors.
Tesla shuts down production of the Model S and X – “farewell” Plaid series goes on sale
At the beginning of the month it became known that Tesla has ceased production of the Model S and Model X electric cars. Ordering a vehicle with custom specifications is no longer possible; purchase can only be made from existing inventory. To revive interest in its flagship models, Tesla announced a “farewell” Plaid series, priced starting at $155,000.
What’s new in Plaid
* Limited production – only 250 Model S Plaids and 100 Model X Plaids.
* Signature Series – a special version with rich ruby‑red Garnet Red paint, gold trim on the rear body panel and golden interior accents (brake discs, seats upholstered in white Alcantara).
* Plaid logo – a distinctive rectangle symbolizing acceleration, placed both inside the cabin and on the exterior of the car.
Unique details

Prices and sales
* Model S Plaid – from $155,000
* Model X Plaid – from $159,420
The premium over the standard Plaid models is about $30,000.
These cars will be sold at a specially organized event in May of this year. Participation is only by invitation, which is sent via email.
Thus, Tesla ends production of two key models while simultaneously launching a limited “farewell” Plaid series to keep automotive enthusiasts engaged and sustain demand for its flagship electric vehicles.
