Assassin’s Creed Codename: Hexe – new project lead

What happened and how
Departure of creative director Clint Hocking from Ubisoft 2026 (reported by *Video Games Chronicle*)

Brief biography of Clint Hocking – Experience at Ubisoft: almost 20 years – from 2001 to 2010 and from 2015 to 2026.

Key projects: *Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory*, *Far Cry 2*, *Watch Dogs: Legion* and, until recently, *Codename: Hexe*.

Why he left
Ubisoft officially confirmed the split with Hocking:

> “We sincerely thank Clint for his vision, creative contribution, and dedication over many years. We wish him all the best in the next chapter.”

Who will now lead the project – New content head – Jean Guesdon (Jean Guesdon), formerly creative director of *Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag* and *Assassin’s Creed Origins*.

According to a Ubisoft representative, under his leadership Hexe will be “something unique” within the franchise.

What is known about the game itself
Plot: witch hunt in the Holy Roman Empire of the 16th century.

Tone: positioned as the darkest *Assassin’s Creed* ever.

Release date: expected in 2027.

Next steps
Developers promise to reveal additional details about the project soon, but information remains limited.

Thus, despite the departure of one key figure, *Codename: Hexe* continues toward its unique concept under new leadership by Jean Guesdon.
