Fragmentary Order – a new hardcore shooter from the former head of Escape from Tarkov

Nikita Buiyanov, head of Battlestate Games and creator of *Escape from Tarkov*, talked in an interview with GamesBeat about his new project – the sci‑fi multiplayer shooter Fragmentary Order.

Who’s behind the game
* Developer: Rant Gaming Studios – a team of roughly 130 veterans of the gaming industry and cinema, founded by Buiyanov after leaving Battlestate.
* Publisher: Cor3 – a new company that will take on publishing the project.

Development status
* The team is almost entirely new: 98 % of participants are new hires; only three or four consultants came from *Escape from Tarkov*.
* Development began about two years ago, and active work on the game has been ongoing for roughly a year.

Concept and gameplay
* Although evacuation mechanics are popular in *Escape from Tarkov*, Buiyanov stresses that they will not be the core of Fragmentary Order.
> “It’s an evacuation shooter for casual people – that’s Arc Raiders from Embark Studios. That’s not our option. We want the most torturous, demanding, and rich gaming experience,” he said.
* The game is positioned as a next‑generation combat simulator:
* Unreal Engine 5 as the engine.
* Maps will be three to four times larger than those in *Escape from Tarkov*.
* It’s still undecided how much space combat will make it into the final product.

Release plans
* Platform: PC.
* Timing: no specific dates yet; first public tests are planned for 2026.
* Promises include “hard science fiction,” detailed weapon customization, and deep world building.

Thus, Fragmentary Order represents a serious step toward a more demanding shooter focused on realism and complexity, distinct from the evacuation mechanics that were popular in *Escape from Tarkov*.
