Capcom reports record sales of Resident Requiem

In mid-March the Japanese publisher and developer Capcom announced that by that time 6 million copies of the action‑horror *Resident Evil Requiem* had already been sold. Since then the numbers have risen to more than 7 million.

Gematsu noted that project lead Koshi Nakanishi posted photos from a Capcom corporate party celebrating the new milestone. On cakes styled after the game’s main characters – FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft and series veteran Leon Kennedy – it was indicated that sales had exceeded 7 million copies.

* The “Leon” cake is decorated with black icing, blueberries, raspberries, and a cookie figurine of the character.
* The “Grace” cake is covered in white icing, on which a zombie’s hand reaching toward the heroine is depicted, along with an edible portrait of Grace.

Brief plot

Grace and Leon investigate a series of deaths caused by an unknown disease. Their fates intertwine and lead to uncovering a hidden secret behind the incident in Raccoon City.
