Framework raises memory and storage prices again due to shortage

The modular laptop manufacturer Framework announced a third price increase in the last four months, now taking into account the ongoing component shortages.

What changed
Item New Price (USD) Previous Price DDR5 RAM $13–$18/GB $12–$16/GB (February)
Framework explains the price spread by saying that older, cheaper memory stock is still on sale. At the same time the company has to revise prices for some SSD capacities.

How it affected products
- Desktop (AMD Ryzen AI Max 385 + 32 GB LPDDR5X)

- New cost: $1 269

- Originally in January: $1 139

- Laptop 16 – prices of some configurations also rose.

- In the coming months Framework plans similar adjustments for other ready‑to‑go laptops.

Additional comments
In its official blog, the company noted that “the price increase this month is smaller than previous ones,” but it is still too early to say the market has stabilized.

Along with rising memory and storage costs, Framework reported a shortage of processors: the Intel Core i5‑1334U model used in the Laptop 12 is no longer available on the market.

Thus, due to ongoing component shortages, prices for memory, SSDs and ready‑made Framework computers are climbing, and the company warns of possible delays in processor supply.
