Baidu launches direct access to the OpenClaw AI agent through its main app

Chinese search company Baidu announced that starting today users of its flagship mobile app will be able to communicate directly with the popular artificial intelligence – the OpenClaw agent.

Participants in the program will be able to send messages to the AI agent straight from the search interface and use it for:

* task planning;
* file organization;
* code generation.

Like other AI agents, OpenClaw is gaining traction thanks to its ability to automate everyday tasks: managing email, interacting with various online services, etc.

Until recently access to the agent was provided via messengers (WhatsApp, Telegram). Now Baidu plans to integrate it into its own e‑commerce service and other corporate solutions.

Ahead of the Chinese New Year, technology giants are actively adding new features to attract users and reap benefits from AI investments.

* Alibaba has already deployed the Qwen chatbot on Taobao and Fliggy platforms: users can receive personalized recommendations while paying through Alipay without leaving the app.
* Tencent and Baidu have also allowed OpenClaw to run in their cloud infrastructures.

Thus, Baidu is strengthening its ecosystem approach by offering AI tools directly within the familiar app for users, which should increase convenience and appeal of the company’s services.
