The new Intel driver improves game launch times but does not support all Arc graphics cards
New Intel 32.0.101.8626 WHQL driver and Shader Delivery Service
Intel has released an updated graphics driver version 32.0.101.8626 WHQL, which for the first time includes the Graphics Shader Distribution Service (shader delivery service). According to the company, this feature could cut the initial load times of supported games by about half.
Who can use the new feature
- Supported platforms
- Arc B series GPUs.
- Integrated graphics (Arc) in Core Ultra Series 2 and Series 3 processors.
- Not supported
- GPU‑series A (Alchemist). Users of these cards can install the generic driver but will not have access to the service.
How the service works
On Intel’s “Arc” page, the same technology is described as Precompiled Shader Distribution – “Pre‑Compiled Shader Distribution”.
The system downloads optimized shader files from Intel’s cloud storage and implements its own version of Microsoft Advanced Shader Delivery framework (which is currently unavailable). This reduces shader compilation latency and speeds up first game launches.
Supported games
Currently the list includes 13 titles, including:
- Black Myth: Wukong
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Starfield
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
- The Outer Worlds 2 and others.
Limitations and future
Intel clarified that the service is intended exclusively for products based on the Xe2 graphics architecture.
In response to a user’s request on X, the company confirmed:
- Pre‑compiled shaders are available only for
- Arc‑GPU in Core Ultra 3 and 200V processors,
- Discrete GPUs of the Arc B series.
Support will not be extended to older Xe1 architectures (graphics cards and integrated graphics of the A series). This means that Alchemist GPU owners can install the same driver but should not expect new functionality.
Impact on mobile devices
The decision affects both discrete graphics cards and integrated iGPU in Intel gaming systems, such as first‑generation MSI Claw portable consoles.
