The Take‑Two executive is surprised that some people might refuse to play GTA VI
GTA VI: “No Risk” – says Take‑Two CEO
Despite the fierce hype surrounding the new GTA installment, not every fan is ready for its open graphics and free world. However, Take‑Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauß Zelnick, is convinced that the game will find its player.
Optimism About the Audience
In an interview with *The Game Business*, Zelnick emphasized:
> “I don’t see a risk that someone will say, ‘I only played GTA V/IV and I’m not interested in the sixth.’ On the contrary, I’m confident that GTA VI will attract any suitable person.”
He believes that adult players (age rating – 17+) with consoles will be interested in Rockstar’s new title.
> “If you have a console and are over 17, how can you explain why you don’t want to play? I just don’t understand,” he marvels.
A Game for Life
Zelnick also rejects the idea of “old age” as a barrier to gaming:
> “We stay passionate about the same entertainment that attracted us at 17. If you liked video games then, and now you’re 40, you’ll still play.”
Release Date and Marketing
After two postponements, GTA VI’s release date is officially set for November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
According to rumors, Rockstar plans a new trailer in April, with a full advertising campaign kicking off only in the summer.
Thus, Take‑Two’s CEO confidently states: the game is aimed at a broad range of players and isn’t afraid of losing an audience due to age or experience with previous titles.
