Volkswagen recalls about 100,000 electric vehicles due to a problem with battery packs.
Volkswagen Announces Large-Scale Electric Vehicle Recall

The issue lies with traction battery defects:
* reduced range on a single charge;
* increased risk of ignition – a more dangerous situation.
To address the defect, the company is ready not only to release software updates but also to replace components of the high-voltage on‑board network.
