WhatsApp launches paid subscription “Plus” for iOS users

The company announced the start of testing a new WhatsApp Plus subscription among owners of iOS-based devices. The tariff is fully focused on customizing the appearance of the app, rather than adding new communication features.

Testing and availability
The subscription underwent closed testing with a small group of users. It is currently available only in the App Store for iOS devices running the latest version of the app. A wider launch is expected in the coming weeks.

Prices may vary in other countries. Depending on the region, users receive a free trial—either one week or one month.

Who won’t see the subscription

Thus, WhatsApp Plus offers enhanced interface customization options while keeping all core communication features free. The subscription is already being tested among iOS users and will soon be available to a broader audience.
