Xiaomi Raises Prices on Popular Redmi Models in China

Following a recent price review, the company announced an increase in the cost of several sought-after smartphones under the Redmi brand. The largest hikes are seen in the Redmi K90 Pro Max models, as well as the Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max lineup.

What Changed
Model Price Change New Price (in yuan)
Redmi K90 Pro Max 12/256 GB +200 yuan 4 199 yuan ($615.57)
Redmi K90 Pro Max 16/1 TB +200 yuan 5 499 yuan ($806.15)
Redmi Turbo 5 12/256 GB (discount removed) 2 299 yuan ($337.03)
Redmi Turbo 5 Max 12/256 GB (discount removed) 2 499 yuan ($366.35)

*Models with a 512 GB storage retain a 200‑yuan subsidy.*

Reason for the Increase
Xiaomi attributes the price rise to “the continued sharp increase in the cost of core components,” especially memory chips worldwide. The upward trend in memory prices has been observed for several months, forcing manufacturers to partially pass these costs on to consumers.

Thus, in the near future, prices for popular Redmi smartphones in China will climb, and users will see higher base configuration costs.
