Within the ITGSA (Mobile Smart Terminal Ecosystem Alliance), China’s largest smartphone manufacturers—vivo, Xiaomi, Oppo, and Honor—have agreed to implement a common approach to memory management. The goal is to eliminate frequent issues such as device overheating, interface freezes, and forced termination of background apps.

What They Proposed

* “Fair Memory Allocation” – a unified set of tools for developers that allows app optimization without needing separate versions for each phone model.
* Transparent RAM Usage Limits – clear technical guidelines to prevent memory overflow.
* Warning Notifications – a system that alerts users in advance about resource shortages and suggests freeing memory before it causes failure.

These measures aim to reduce OS load, improve interface stability even under high hardware stress, and cut the time and cost of software adaptation.

The ITGSA Alliance, founded in 2021, views this step as a transition from voluntary recommendations to mandatory technical standards. Developers must complete evaluation and optimization of their apps by June 30, 2026.
