How to Connect Your Own Domain to Your Asted Cloud Website
If you already own a domain (a website address) from any registrar, you can point it to your Asted Cloud website. Just go to your domain's DNS settings and add an A record pointing to our server — IP address 151.245.92.97. No complicated setup — just a couple of fields.
What is an A record and why you need it
An A record is a rule in your domain's DNS settings that links your website address (e.g. mysite.com) to a specific server on the internet via its IP address. To make your domain show the website hosted on Asted Cloud, you need to create an A record pointing to our server — IP 151.245.92.97. After that, when someone types your domain into a browser, they'll land directly on your website.
How to add the A record in your domain's DNS
1. Log in to your account with the company where your domain is registered (your registrar). 2. Find the "DNS Management", "DNS Records", or "Zone Editor" section. 3. Add a new A record: in the "Name"/"Host" field enter @ (this means the root domain, e.g. mysite.com) and set the value to the IP address 151.245.92.97. 4. Optionally, add another A record with the name www and the same IP address 151.245.92.97 — so your site also opens at www.mysite.com. 5. Save the changes.
How long to wait and how to check
After saving the A record, the change doesn't spread across the internet instantly — it usually takes 15-30 minutes to a few hours, and rarely up to 24 hours. To check that everything is connected correctly, simply open your domain in a browser — your Asted Cloud website should appear. If it doesn't show up yet, wait a bit and try again — DNS may still be updating.
