Bethesda will continue developing Starfield after the release of the Terran Armada expansion, promising long-term support for the game.
Starfield will continue to live after new updates
Recently Bethesda Game Studios announced the release of another stream of content for its space RPG *Starfield*. The question is whether this will mark the end of the game's era – the answer is negative: the developers are confident that the project will be supported for years.
What’s already ready?
* Terran Armada – a story expansion with new locations and characters.
* Free Lanes – a large content update unlocking new missions and exploration opportunities.
* PlayStation 5 Package – a special version of the game for the console.
All three releases are scheduled for one day – April 7.
Inside look
In an interview with Eurogamer, Tim Lamb, lead creative producer at Bethesda, emphasized that these updates will make the game “the best version of itself,” but they should not be seen as *Starfield 2.0*.
“The approach of ending content support does not mean the project is finished: we plan to keep Starfield running for years and have long‑term plans,” added Lamb.
At present there is no official announcement of new steps, but the team “continues to work actively on Starfield.” Among priorities are expanding the game’s mythology and searching for “other ideas” that could become the next big event.
What other participants say
Composer Inon Zur, responsible for *Starfield*’s soundtrack, recently stated: “One day the game will become something legendary.” Given the long‑term support from developers, the project truly has every chance to become a genre icon.
Release history
*Starfield* launched in September 2023 on:
* PC (Steam, Microsoft Store)
* Xbox Series X/S
* Game Pass (Ultimate, PC, Standard)
By fall 2024, the total number of players had reached 15 million.
