Capcom officially unveiled a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica and released the first game trailer.
Resident Evil Veronica – a new remake from Capcom
At the official Summer Game Fest 2026 presentation, Capcom announced the release of an updated version of the classic survival horror *Resident Evil Code: Veronica*. The game will be called Resident Evil Veronica and is presented as a modern reinterpretation of the original, available on all popular platforms.
What the trailer showed
In a four‑minute cinematic first‑person clip, viewers see Claire Redfield heading to Paris to find her brother. However, she is ambushed – a scene that could only be seen in the introductory cutscene in the original game. The trailer also showcases the graphics and capabilities of the RE Engine, which Capcom uses for all recent flagship projects in the series.
Release plans
* Release date – expected in 2027.
* Platforms – PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
* Rumors suggest that the scope of the project will be smaller than that of the *Resident Evil 4* remake, yet it will retain the atmosphere of the original.
Thus, Capcom is preparing a new take on the cult horror that should appeal to both fans of the old version and new players.
