Firefox will get a switch to simultaneously disable all AI features

Mozilla is preparing a browser update that will allow users to manage all generative artificial intelligence (AI) features. In the Firefox 148 version, scheduled for release on February 24, a special settings section called “AI Management” will appear.

• Link previews
• Firefox Chatbot (Anthropic Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Le Chat Mistral)

Thus users can either turn AI off entirely or keep only the tools they need.

Why Mozilla Is Doing This
In its blog, the company emphasized that “AI is changing the web,” but people have different expectations: some want to avoid technology completely, others want useful tools. “We aim to provide choice and make AI accessible yet easily switchable,” the text says.

Leadership’s Position
After appointing Anthony Enzor‑DeMeo as Mozilla’s CEO in December 2025, the company announced plans to invest in AI and add new features to Firefox. They stress that “AI should always be a choice” – users must be able to turn off any feature easily and understand why it exists.
