Ford Mustang Mach‑E: new prices and options

Given the current level of development in the chemical industry, electric vehicles remain expensive transportation – most of the cost is made up by costly traction batteries. To stimulate demand, automakers resort to “add‑ons” for additional features rather than cutting prices directly. For example, Ford charges $495 for a front trunk.

What changed since 2025
- Front trunk under the hood

Previously Mustang Mach‑E buyers received it free of charge. In the new model year it is now offered as an option priced at $495. If a customer does not need this extra space, they can save that amount.

- Other new options

* Fender flares – $340
* Bumper protection – $165
* Sunshade for the windshield – $140
* Compressor + sealant cylinder (for puncture repair) – $145

All of these options relate to the exterior styling of the vehicle.

Why these changes
Ford explained that many buyers did not use the front trunk, so in the new year it will be offered “by default” without this feature. This allows customers to decide for themselves whether they need additional capacity.

Automakers are increasingly using option systems to generate extra revenue. An example is BMW, which tried to sell already installed seat heaters on a subscription basis – that approach did not resonate with car enthusiasts and was cancelled.
