Google Gemini has reached 750 million monthly active users, leaving ChatGPT only a small distance from the leader.
Google reports rising popularity of Gemini
In its latest quarterly report, Google announced that its AI assistant Gemini has reached 750 million active users per month. This confirms the rapid spread of the product and makes it a notable player in the artificial intelligence market.
- In the previous quarter, the number of monthly active users was 650 million, demonstrating significant growth over a short period.
- Despite accelerated development, Google still lags behind its main competitor – OpenAI. By the end of 2025, ChatGPT’s user base had already reached 810 million active users per month.
Why did Gemini grow?
Shortly after the launch of Gemini 3 – the company’s most advanced language model to date – the service received an additional boost. According to Google, Gemini 3 provides highly accurate and in-depth answers, taking contextual nuances into account. CEO Sundar Pichai emphasized that launching the new version was a key growth factor, and further investments in AI model development will help sustain this momentum.
New tier to expand audience
Google also introduced the “Google AI Plus” plan at $8 per month. It is expected to attract even more users. Commercial director Philipp Schindler noted at an investor meeting that the company is observing steady growth in its user base and plans to broaden its tariff lineup.
Thus, Gemini continues to accelerate but remains in the race for leadership compared to ChatGPT, with new tariffs and refined models helping further strengthen Google’s position in the AI market.
