Google launches Gemini automation on Pixel 10 and Samsung Galaxy S26

Google announced a new “agent” feature for its AI model Gemini that now works directly on Pixel 10 and Samsung Galaxy S26 smartphones. The system allows the AI to open apps, place orders in stores, and perform other actions that would normally require user intervention.

How it works
1. The neural network performs specific steps

Unlike simple information retrieval, Gemini can interact with external applications. For example, if you ask for a taxi, the AI will open Uber or DoorDash in a separate window and start the ordering process.

2. User observation and control

The user sees the agent moving through menu items. At any time they can interrupt the action or close the window – the operation then continues in the background.

3. Confirmation of final decisions

The final order and payment remain with the user: Gemini sends a notification asking to review details and confirm payment. If something is wrong (the item is out of stock, a different configuration is needed), the AI immediately informs about the issue.

Technical foundation
- Model – the “reasoning” version of Gemini 3, capable of visually recognizing the interface.

- Developer protocols – Google offers MCP and Android App Functions, but the system also works without them by analyzing the screen image and mimicking clicks like an ordinary user.

Reactions from leadership
Samir Samat, president of the Android ecosystem, emphasized: “What matters to the user is the result, not the technologies used.” However, the introduction of automation raises questions about how it will affect app advertising opportunities. Google sees development as inevitable and urges developers to find new ways to interact with AI.

Future
Gemini’s agent functions are planned to be deeply integrated into future Android releases, starting with Android 17, opening new horizons for user convenience.
