What Microsoft plans to change in Windows 11
In recent months the company has intensified efforts to restore trust in its OS.
Pavan Davuluri, head of the Windows division, outlined key improvement directions.
1️⃣ Overall strategy
Phase Plan March‑April New feature rollouts: moving the taskbar to a side/top position on the screen, reducing Copilot’s role in Snip & Sketch, Photos, and Notepad. Update improvements – fewer notifications, automatic restarts, option to skip setup at first launch. Rest of the year Large-scale changes for increased stability and usability.

3️⃣ Interface improvements

* Reduced Windows-level crashes

* Ability to defer update installation without forced reboot – mandatory restart now only once a month.
5️⃣ Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL)
* Higher file operation performance between Linux and Windows
* Better network interaction and throughput
* Optimized initial setup and adaptation
* More reliable WSL policy management tools
* Expanded corporate administration capabilities
6️⃣ Security
* Improvements in facial and fingerprint recognition for Windows Hello.
How will changes be implemented?
1. Preview releases – new features first appear in Insider builds.
2. Feedback Hub – the app has been updated so user feedback goes faster and more conveniently.
