Spotify simplifies text versions of songs, including foreign languages and offline mode operation
Spotify launches new features for working with song lyrics
The music service Spotify announced the launch of a series of functions that will make searching and understanding lyrics more convenient. Among the novelties are song translation, quick text preview in the app, and the ability to save lyrics on the device.
1. Lyrics translation is available to all users
The translation feature was first introduced in 2022, but it only worked in select countries at that time. Now the service expands its coverage to all regions of the world.
- Who gets the translation? Free and premium Spotify users.
- How to use it? A translation icon will appear in the “Lyrics” section. When activated, the app will show translations based on the device language (if available).
2. Preview lyrics without switching to full‑screen mode
Spotify adds a short fragment of the song directly below the track title and above the album cover.
- This allows you to quickly see part of the text without opening a separate window.
- The feature is available for both free and premium users worldwide.
3. Offline lyrics for Premium
Premium subscribers can now download song lyrics along with the audio.
- When a track is saved in the Spotify library, its lyric is automatically saved as well, so the user can read it even without an internet connection.
Thus, the new features make interacting with words in music more flexible and accessible to all service users.
