Stormgate will lose multiplayer by the end of April

Frost-Gaist Studios – a team of former Warcraft 3 and StarCraft 2 developers – announced that by the end of April all network modes in their game *Stormgate* will be disabled. Why? The server provider Hathora was acquired by FireworksAI, which has now stopped servicing gaming studios.

What this means for players
- Multiplayer is temporarily unavailable – until a new server services provider is found.
- Developers plan to release an update with offline mode, but it won’t arrive before the servers are shut down.
- In the near future the game will be available only in single‑player mode.

Future plans
Frost-Gaist Studios said they want to bring back multiplayer. This can only happen when they find a new partner to support network features.

> “We’re very grateful to our player community and as we receive more information we’ll publish new announcements, including details about the offline mode,” the developers confirmed.

Brief release history
*Stormgate* exited early access on August 5, 2025. On Steam its price is 880 rubles. The game has gathered about 9,000 “mixed” reviews, a rating of 48%. Recent reviews are largely negative (34% negative opinions).

Bottom line: by the end of April multiplayer in Stormgate will be unavailable due to the change of server provider. The studio is working on offline mode and looking for a new partner to restore network features in the future.
