Sony Interactive Entertainment and Santa Monica Studio are keeping their latest major game under wraps, but information has still surfaced.

What is already known
* Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier previously noted that the new project by Corey Barlog — the lead developer of *God of War* 2018 — is not a direct part of a new franchise, but it may give that impression.

* On the ResetEra forum a user observed that former senior writer Lauren Signorino at Santa Monica mentioned working on “a new franchise in the God of War universe” in her inaccessible LinkedIn profile.

* Insider Nate the Hate (also known as NateDrake) reveals: the game will be an action‑adventure where the main role is played by Faye — Kratos’ wife and Atreus’ mother from the Norse trilogy. She has many secrets in the past.

> “Yes, the events take place in the God of War universe, and the protagonist will be Faye. The gameplay is expected to differ from the Norse games with a greater emphasis on action,” Nate the Hate said.

Planned dates
* Sony Interactive Entertainment and Santa Monica Studio plan to unveil the game in 2026, with its release slated for the second half of 2027.

* This coincides with Christopher Judge’s statement — the actor who portrays Kratos in *God of War* and *God of War: Ragnarok*. He said that Santa Monica Studio’s next game featuring him will drop at the end of summer that same year.

Thus, even though developers are keeping details locked up, it is clear that the new work will take place in the God of War universe, be led by Faye, and appear around mid‑2027.
