Timberborn will be available after the early period later than planned, because “beavers are too courteous.”
Polish studio Mechanistry has postponed the release of Timberborn by one week
The developers of the city‑building strategy game about beavers have announced that the final launch will not be on March 5 but on March 12. The decision was made not because of technical difficulties, but because another two major projects are scheduled to drop on the same day.
What happened
- Timberborn has been in early access since September 2021 and was preparing for a full release on March 5, 2026.
- The announcement of the launch date was published only a few weeks ago – at the beginning of February.
- On the very day that Timberborn is supposed to exit early access, two other games are slated for release. To avoid “dragging” their audience and creating competition, Mechanistry decided to push its own launch back by one week.
> “Beavers are very polite, so we’re clearing the space and moving the release a week later… Times are tough, and we don’t want to pull their blanket over ourselves with our release.” – the developers said.
Which games are involved
Exact details have not yet been disclosed. However, it is known that one of the projects is the anticipated card roguelike Slay the Spire 2, which will enter early access on March 5. In addition to that, several other games are planned for the same day.
Brief Timberborn statistics
Metric Value Early‑access period 4.5 years
Positive Steam reviews ~33 000 (95 %)
Updates 7 major
Sales up to 1 million copies
Where it will be available
After launch, the game will appear on Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store.
Plot: people turned Earth into a post‑apocalyptic desert, after which they went extinct. Players take on the role of one of two beaver clans and build their colony.
Thus, Timberborn is releasing on March 12 instead of the originally planned March 5 to avoid overlap with other major releases.
